The Presbyterian Church (USA) accepts and acknowledges Trinitarian
baptism from any Christian body, and receives members into communion
three ways:
- By profession through baptism: Persons who have not yet been
baptized can be received into membership, after a period of instruction,
by public baptism and the confession of their faith in Jesus Christ.
- Members may be received by reaffirmation of faith if they have
been, in the past, a member of a corresponding church, but are
no longer active. They are received by reaffirming their faith
in Jesus Christ before the Session of the Church and then received
by the congregation.
- Members who are active members of corresponding congregations
can be accepted into membership by a request to Leverington Presbyterian
Church’s session for a letter of membership from their home congregation.
The Session (the Elders) of Leverington Presbyterian Church meet monthly.
They are available to answer your questions or respond to your requests
concerning membership. |
